Rove gets swept under the rug.

Now I thought I had read somewhere before I left for the Maine wilderness that Rove would be the leaker in the Plame case. Today I find out Larry O'Donnel broke the story on Friday and again Sunday on the McLaughlin group.

After my return from the wilderness in Maine, I watched one hour's worth of the News Hour, and have been watching CNN in the mornings. With work being a bit on the busy side (except for today obviously) I have been slowly reading and catching up. Now everybody talked about the Plame story and Judy Miller and Matt Cooper possibly going to jail. Yet even after the fact that this story broke on Friday nothing about Rove being the leaker. I thought, well they have to vet this info and all of that so that the 101st fighting keyboarders don't get all Dan Rathered up over reporting that the king of conservatives may be a criminal.

But reading this post at Think Progress it seems to be a deeper more uh serious problem of general apathy even amongst those who really must be bored of asking the same old questions and getting the same old answers from Scottie Mac.

Which is what baffles me most about the media particularly those covering the White House or the President. When the opportunity comes to ask a different question about a different piece of information that is out there, why not take it? It isn't like you will be asking questions like some bald gay prostitutes used to. I mean I remember feeling almost sorry for the schmucks who covered the candidates in 2004. They had to listen to the same old stump speaches over and over and all that travel and coffee and donuts. If only they had something else they could ask the President.

Free question to the obviously question depleted White House Press Corps. You should ask it if not for anything but watching Scottie Mac squirm or give you the typical obfuscated answer.

Was Karl Rove in any way involved with leaking Valerie Plame's name to the press in 2002? If so how and in what ways?
