Culture of Life
2002 was the last year that Medicaid released statistics.
Doing simple math, we find out that for 49,754,619 recipients Medicaid paid out $213,491,313,278. This ammounts to about $4,290.88 per benificiary.
Let's assume that 2 more years of Bush's Regeanomics ver. 2.0 hasn't increased the number of people on the program (by say job loss or generally becomming poor), and that Health Care Costs have remained stagnant (which we know they haven't). The Budget agreement squeaked by both House and Senate Republicans (Shame on 7 non-votes in the House that could have stopped this thing) cut $10 billion dollars from the Medicaid Budget.
Let's see at $4,290.88 pop that's 2,330,524 people that have been robbed of Health Care.
Now let's see what the odds are that ANY of those people will die if the Republicans have their way.
The odds of dying in 2002:
The odds of dying from an injury in 2002 were 1 in 1,755.
More math tell us that 1,327 could die of just ANY injury. I guess the rest of the 2,329,197 people who will wake up in 2006 without Health insurance will just suffer for a while.
However, how many people does it take before the Culture of Life folks get called on their hypocrysy?
America! This is what you voted for!
Congratulations Republicans! You just ass raped 2 million people while keeping the $106 billion dollar tax breaks for Captial Gains earners (who by the way aren't your typical Medicaid beneficiary).
Or as Ezekiel 34:4 says:
You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.
Vote Republican! Before the Gay people are allowed to have sex with sheep!
