Some Things Considered

This cute NPR interview with David Dreier (the closet gay chariman of the house rules committee) seems to be missing something.

OH... I know, balance. Notice there is no Democrat to counter David Dreier as he successfully paints Democrats as out of "creative new ideas." etc. etc. It's also nice to hear Melissa Block be so nice and polite as she lets Dreier spew forth his talking points. Not to mention her very own successes at repeating things that Dreier's Republican counterparts have said recently. However, interestingly enough, Dreier says that his is the "reform party" and that "reform" has been at the top of their priority list for the decade they have been in power.

Definition of reform:

1 To improve by alteration, correction of error, or removal of defects; put into a better form or condition.
2 a. To abolish abuse or malpractice in: reform the government.
2 b. To put an end to (a wrong).
3 To cause (a person) to give up harmful or immoral practices; persuade to adopt a better way of life.

If anything, Jack Abramoff, and accepting his money are actions hardly free of defects.
